Minnesota Vikings players paid tribute to their fallen leader and quarterback, Kirk Cousins, on Sunday, while warming up for their week 9 game vs the Atlanta Falcons, by wearing T-shirts with Cousins’ name and likeness all over them.

Included in the group sporting the Cousins tribute shirt was new Vikings starter, Jaren Hall, along with the entire wide receiver room, and others.

Kirk Cousins is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, one in which he will not return for. But there have been signs that Cousins is not yet done wearing Vikings purple.

Cousins + Vikings reunion seems likely

Kirk got his torn Achilles tendon repaired by the Vikings’ team doctor, which seems a bit odd, if he isn’t planning to stay here. He also plans to spend a lot of time, during the remainder of this season, in the TCO Performance and US Bank Stadium locker rooms and around teammates. That’s not normal for a recovering player, under contract, let alone one who’s about to become a free agent.

Then, on Saturday, it was reported that Minnesota does indeed hope to bring Kirk Cousins back next year. Which tells me that, if they haven’t already started, contract negotiations between the two sides are just around the corner.

And that will make his teammates happy. Many have already spoken publicly about how important Kirk is to what the Minnesota Vikings do, and they spoke again on Sunday during warmups.
