Anthony Edwards Credits Timberwolves Win to Rudy Gobert Cussing Out Teammates at Halftime
The Minnesota Timberwolves secured their second-straight win late Monday night in Los Angeles vs the previously red hot Los Angeles Clippers, and in doing so, slightly tightened their hold on the Western Conference’s top seed… at least for now

But that’s not how the picture was painted at the end of two quarters, after the Wolves allowed LA to go on a 20-9 run and take the lead the waning minutes leading up to halftime. That’s why Rudy Gobert, according to Anthony Edwards, was not happy when his teammates arrived in the locker room.

After the game, Ant told reporters while chuckling, that being “cussed out” at halftime (in english) is what propelled a Wolves 40-19 3rd quarter run that essentially ended LA’s night before the final period got under way.
Reporter: ‘What made you so successful in the 3rd quarter?’
Ant: “In the 3rd? Being cussed out in here [at halftime].”
Reporter: “Who was doing the cussing at halftime?”
Ant: “Rudy.”
Reporter: “English or French?”
Ant: “English. We don’t know French.”
Anthony Edwards after Timberwolves win in LA
Despite the Clippers being favored by 4.5 points before the game, the Timberwolves stepped on the gas midway through the 3rd quarter and never looked back. This victory mirrors their previous encounter, a win at Target Center last month.

Monday night, the Timberwolves showcased a balanced offensive effort with six players scoring in double figures: KAT (24), Edwards (23), Gobert (17), Alexander-Walker (15), Reid (11), and McDaniels (11). This collective effort led to a commanding 21-point victory, solidifying their position at the top of the conference standings. The Wolves will face off against the Clippers two more times in March.
Did Gobert’s halftime freak out really help?
Did Gobert’s halftime rallying have an impact? I mean, who are we to doubt Anthony’s view on the situation? The Timberwolves dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Clippers and ultimately secured a convincing 121-100 victory.
