The Minnesota Wild will start their 2023 training camp on Wednesday. So on Tuesday, they rounded out their depth chart by re-signing defenseman, Calen Addison, to a one-year, $825K deal.

Wild Re-Sign Calen Addison, leaving little room under salary cap

Addison’s deal leaves the Wild with just over $800K in salary cap space, entering camp. There are a lot of questions surrounding the 2023 Wild, as they work through cap hell, thanks to the cap penalties being assessed after releasing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter over two years ago.

The 23-year-old former 2nd round pick has a lot to prove in 2023-24. For much of the offseason, it was widely believed the Wild would trade their Calen Addison, but a deal was never struck. As of now, according to Michael Russo (The Athletic), Addison is expected to play on the Wild’s 3rd line, while also getting heavy minutes on the power play.
