The Minnesota Vikings enter their week five game in London vs the New York Jets atop the NFL world, as the most impressive of two undefeated teams remaining. Even the most cynical preseason doubters have been forced to confirm the Vikings as legitimate playoff contenders in the NFC.

For many, they’re even talking about the unthinkable. Super Bowl, homeboy. One man who jumped on that bandwagon on Friday was none other than NFL expert Kevin Durant, who plays an NBA superstar (and Anthony Edwards’ big brother) for his day job.

Kevin Durant loves the Minnesota Vikings and he wants to talk about it

In an interview on the “Up and Adams Show” today, Kay Adams asked KD who he considered the top team in the NFL. The top of his power rankings, so to speak. Durant’s answer: The Minnesota Vikings, of course. Because why wouldn’t it be?

Adams: “If you had to pick who is playing the best football, if you did a power rankings, who would you put at the top?”

Durant: “I would say Minnesota.”

Adams: “They’re number one?”

Durant: “They playing quality competition and they’re pretty much dominating.”

Adams: “I think it’s the Ravens.”

Durant: “You think so? They got two losses right?”

Adams: “Yeah, but I just feel like right now. If we are talking about who is playing the best football right now. [The Ravens] defense looked insane. If they beat the Bengals this week, with what Lamar [Jackson] and Derrick [Henry] are doing, it’s insane.”

Kay Adams clearly did not come into this interview thinking it would become about the Minnesota Vikings. She tries turning it to other teams. Obviously, she likes the Baltimore Ravens right now. Cool. But KD didn’t want to talk about the Ravens. He has his eyes looking north.

Durant turns conversation to Sam Darnold

So, he turned the conversation to Sam Darnold. ‘Yeah… no back to the Vikings’. Kay bites, and asks what Durant likes about Darnold. KD was happy to explain, diving into Sam’s unfortunate situation with the New York Jets, out of college. No doubt, Kevin Durant is a believer in the Minnesota Vikings and their QB.

Durant: “Yeah [the Ravens] are insane… Alright so Sam Darnold, Sam Darnold is a player the surprised me this year.”

Adams: “Yeah, people don’t believe in him.”

Durant: “First of all, he has the talent. He was a top-5 pick. It might take a little bit longer for some quarterbacks to find their rhythm and understand the game. He’s just playing solid football and I want to see how it continues.”

Just bring KD to Minnesota. He wants it, we want it, Ant wants it.

I can’t tell if this is Kevin Durant showing his high football IQ or if he is just trying to get the attention of Minnesota sports fans. Now that Karl Anthony Towns is out, making a trade for KD (something that has been widely speculated about already this offseason) would be a lot easier for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I like Julius Randle, but he’s probably not a long-term solution for the Wolves. And if I were to pick between two good non-long term solutions for one dream Timberwolves run, I’d take Durant over Randle. He and Anthony Edwards became best friends while playing together on Team USA. Why not bring him to MN, so that tutelage toward greatness can continue?

The natural next step is to force a trade to play with Ant. It wouldn’t be the first time KD swapped playoff rosters, and we all know the Minnesota Timberwolves are 10 times the team Phoenix is this year, even with Durant.

So… why not bring your talents to Minneapolis, Kevin? Oh, and if you make it happen fast enough, KD, I’m sure the Vikings will be happy to get you suite tickets to watch your favorite Super Bowl contender too. Make it happen.
