The Minnesota Vikings have been besting the competition at a surprising pace to start 2024. They knocked off the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans without the services of Jordan Addison. Against the Green Bay Packers, they could be much closer to full health.

The Minnesota Vikings came into the season with Jordan Addison working through an ankle injury suffered during joint practices. Then the New York Giants knocked him out of Week 1 on a hip drop tackle. With the Green Bay Packers on deck, Matt LaFleur’s secondary could have to contend with a pair of star Vikings wideouts.

If Addison is able to return on Sunday, the Packers will see a pairing they didn’t have to face at Lambeau Field last season. When the Vikings knocked off Green Bay on the road, they did so without Justin Jefferson. The star wide receiver was dealing with a hamstring issue, and Jordan Addison went off for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota has had Addison available for just a portion of one week this season. Still, Sam Darnold has looked the part of a top tier quarterback. If they can present him with another weapon this week, the Vikings offense only gets more dangerous. Packers Jaire Alexander has struggled to cover both wideouts individually. It would be impossible for him to lock down both.

It’s a homecoming for Aaron Jones, and he’ll take the field out of the visitor’s locker room for the first time. If Addison can join him, the Vikings offense would be at near full strength.
