Minnesota Vikings Injury Updates: Latest on Dallas Turner & Jordan Addison
The Minnesota Vikings had their final practice of the week on Friday, leading up to their week 3 matchup vs the also-undefeated Houston Texans. There are storylines everywhere you want to look, for this game.
Both 2-0 teams are connected by former players, all over each roster. Blake “Cash Man” Cashman and Jonathan Greenard spent their last two seasons in Houston, prior to signing in Minnesota. Obviously, everyone is ready for the return of Stefon Diggs, but we’ll see lots of Danielle Hunter, Kris Boyd and even Cam Akers on Sunday, too.
An undeniable and unfortunate storyline, leading up to this matchup, is injuries. The Texans and Vikings are both dealing with important players, some of which will not be available on Sunday. In Houston, Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce haven’t practiced all week. Neither running back is expected to play vs the Vikings, which is why Akers will probably get the start.
Jordan Addison, Dallas Turner both presumably OUT vs Houston Texans
For the Minnesota Vikings, WR Jordan Addison and rookie EDGE Dallas Turner missed practice again on Friday. Both players are assumedly out for this weekend’s contest. Everyone else who’s graced the injury report, at one point or another this week, practiced in some capacity today. That includes Justin Jefferson.

There is no surprise, here. It’s been expected all week that Jordan Addison would miss his second game in a row, due to a right ankle sprain. Dallas Turner, who sustained a “minor knee injury” last week vs the 49ers, told reporters on Thursday that he’s not expecting to play.
Minnesota Vikings name surprise scratch
Head coach, Kevin O’Connell confirmed after practice that both guys will sit out on Sunday. But he brought a surprise name with him, too. Ivan Pace Jr will not play either. He is dealing with a previous quad injury, plus a new ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Justin Jefferson took blame for his quad contusion, but made it very clear to reporters that he is definitely playing this weekend, vs the Texans. It sounds like he will see a lot of his former LSU teammate, Derek Stingley Jr.
