Andrew Booth Jr was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2nd round of the infamous 2022 NFL Draft. At the time he was seen as a future staple in the Vikings secondary and a guy that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah could build his defense around, along with No. 32 overall pick in that same draft, Lewis Cine.

Just two short years later, both defensive backs are struggling to remain in the league. Cine is now on the New York Jets practice squad. Andrew Booth Jr, now 24-years-old, was traded by the Vikings, to the Dallas Cowboys, prior to the start of the season.

Former Minnesota Vikings CB Andrew Booth Jr cut by Cowboys

On Tuesday afternoon, Booth was cut by the Jerry Jones, after a roster spot was needed due to a trade for Carolina wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. His next stop, most likely, is the Cowboys practice squad.

The Dallas Cowboys were keeping Andrew Booth Jr as far away from the game day football field as possible, since acquiring him from the Vikings. He’s made appearances on defense in just two games, logging a total of 38 snaps. His PFF coverage grade in those snaps… an ugly 29.1.

Booth, a former Clemson Tiger, enjoyed the best season of his career 3-year career in 2023 with the Minnesota Vikings. He logged 151 snaps and posted a 68.6 PFF grade (69.1 coverage). Still, he only produced 8 total tackles and ZERO interceptions. As it looks now, Andrew Booth Jr may never record an NFL interception.
