BREAKING: Twins Acquire Starting LHP Jaime Garcia from Braves

It was said to be completed last week but, after talks stalled on Thursday night, the Twins and Braves finally finished a deal bringing (LHP) Jaime Garcia, (C) Anthony Recker, and Cash Considerations to Minnesota, in exchange for Twins’ Prospect (RHP) Huascar Ynoa.

Garcia gives the Twins a legitimate back-end starter on a pitching staff that has had some BIG F-ING STRUGGLES. Last night the Twins needed 7 total pitchers after Mejia could only get through 4.1 innings.

Garcia comes to the Twins with a 4.3 ERA which is inflated from his 9-year career ERA of 3.65. We need him to come in and get ready to play for a competing team. The Twins need that to fuel him back to his career-normal self. If that happens, well shit, he might be our best starter, with that ERA.

As far as the rest of the trade goes. The Twins Daily Guys are trying to figure out the same thing. Most of them have been calling for the Twins to call up catching prospect Mitch Garver, who has been playing really well in (AAA) Rochester. Here are John BonnesĀ andĀ Seth Stohs hoping the move for Recker is a sign that Garver is on his way to the MLB.

Huascar Ynoa is only 19 years old and was playing in the Appy League (Rookie Ball) where he was carrying a 5.26 ERA this season. He was a highly touted international signing in 2014. Here is a Baseball America Article on him.

If the Twins get their asses kicked by the Dodgers then this really won’t matter. They already enter the series behind Cleveland by 2.5 games. The Dodgers are the best team in the National League but have had some pitching issues recently as far as injuries are concerned. First game of the series is tonight at 9:10 PM. Here is the series preview fromĀ TwinkieTown.com.
