The Minnesota Timberwolves have made their pick. Anthony Edwards is coming to Minnesota to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and D’angelo Russell. After months of debating whether it should be Ball, Edwards, or Wiseman the Wolves have decided on Edwards.

The fit for Edwards in Minnesota has always been a bit in question, but he is definitely the most athletic player in this class. You make that fit work. Edwards has a ton of questions and risk, but who doesn’t in this draft? His athleticism is unmatched and if that can correlate to playing in the NBA then watch out.
Out of all the players in the draft, Edwards seems to be the most likely to become a superstar. The risks with Edwards are all very similar to Andrew Wiggins. Does he see basketball as more than a job? Is he willing to put in the work to become the best player he can be? Edwards is going to need solid structure and strong veteran leadership. Is that something Ryan Saunders and Karl Anthony-Towns can provide? It has to be.
On his strengths, he is probably the best scorer in the draft. Defensively, he has the tools, but needs to improve his commitment on that end. His ceiling has been Dwyane Wade with a floor of Dion Waiters. Ideally, he becomes the next DeMar DeRozan.
Overall, Edwards is 230 pounds of athleticism and muscle. With the right infrastructure he can become a star. It’ll be fun to see if the Wolves can make it work.
