The Minnesota Timberwolves have only one game remaining on their 2024-25 regular season schedule, and it’s a big one. At 48-33, the Wolves currently hold the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. If that’s where they stand on Sunday night, they’ll be in the play-in tournament.

But their win/loss record is actually tied with the Golden State Warriors and one game game back of the LA Clippers… who play each other on Sunday, in both of their season finales.

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s opponent for Sunday afternoon, the Utah Jazz, have already packed it in for the season, at 17-64. The underwhelming collection of players in Salt Lake City have had their vacation bags packed since they returned from the All-Star break months ago.

MN Timberwolves news: NBA rescinds Anthony Edwards’ suspension

Want more good news? After Anthony Edwards was assessed his 18th technical foul of the season Friday night, per league rules, the 23-year-old phenom was supposed to be suspended for tomorrow’s finale vs Utah.

But then, Saturday afternoon, the NBA offices rescinded Anthony Edwards’ suspension and allowing him to play vs the Jazz. While there would have been no excuse for losing to arguably the worst team in basketball, taking the floor with Ant in a must-win game 82 feels like a soft blanket of insurance… just in case.

In his fourth NBA season, Anthony Edwards has taken yet another step in his development to superstardom. There is no doubt about his talent. Instead, his 18 (now 17) technical fouls on the season help reflect some of the immaturity he still has to work on, if he is going to reach the type of NBA superstar tier that we thought we may never live to watch in this town.

On the season, Edwards is averaging career highs in minutes (36.3, points (27.4), eFG% (.546), 3PT% (.395). FG% (.447) and attempts (20.3). With Karl-Anthony Towns out of the picture, there are no more questions about how is the guy for the Minnesota Timberwolves, not that there were any before.

Now, the superstar pup has to get this final regular season win out of the way, so they can get a much few needed days of rest, before tipping off their first playoff game (not play-in game).
