Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards Named to NBA All-Star Roster
The Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t had a pretty season so far. Just before the year kicked started, they traded a face of the franchise. Julius Randle has been a weird fit. Their recent win over the Denver Nuggets built some momentum, and here they are now.
Still, Anthony Edwards is here, and that’s great. He has elevated his game another notch this year, even if it doesn’t show every night. He remains one of the most exciting talents in the league and will feature in his third-straight All-Star Game.
Anthony Edwards represents MN Timberwolves in NBA All-Star Game
We have known the NBA All-Star Game starters for a week now. Former Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns is among them. No current members of Chris Finch’s team are, but Anthony Edwards earned a nod as a reserve on Thursday.

This has been something of a transformative season for Edwards. While it’s fair to argue that the Timberwolves team was his last year, the 23-year-old is absolutely the leader at this point. That has manifested itself in frustration due to the early results, but he is taking the role in stride.
He has yet to miss a game this season and is averaging a career-high 26.4 points per game. His 9.8 three point attempts per contest are easily a career-high, but he’s also knocking them down at a career-best 41.8%.

The former first overall pick ranks among the most exciting players in the game, and the league would be foolish to exclude Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards from their weekend celebration.
It remains to be seen exactly how much run Edwards will receive during the game. The NBA has tinkered with the roster selection process over the years, and the game itself puts the idea of an exhibition to shame. That said, you can expect a show when he steps on the court.
After their most recent game with the Utah Jazz, the Timberwolves have just nine games left prior to the All-Star Break. They are trending in the right direction, but need to continue making a strong run if they want to avenge their Western Conference Finals exit from a season ago.
