Twins WIN vs Diamondbacks behind Buxton and Sano:

Things got off to a rough start again for the starting pitching staff. Santana gave up 2 runs in the 1st and then another run in the 2nd. However, the bats came back firing the rest of the game, like they have so many other times this season.

First, Polanco started the scoring with a hit that scored Buxton, in the 2nd.

Then, Kepler stayed hot:

Then, an inning later, Byron Buxton hit one deep off the center field wall and it took an awkward bounce….

Polanco hit Buxton in again to take the lead in the 6th. 4-3.

Then, in the 7th, a pair of 2 run BOMBS by Sano and Escobar sealed the fate of Friday night (I can’t find a video of Escobar’s…):

Miguel Sano hits a 2-run home run for his 27th home run of the season!!! #MNTwins pic.twitter.com/hrMKxzXX4z

Dozier and Sano added one more a-piece in the 8th for good measure.

The final would be 10-3.

Twins call up Mitch Garver:

People have been calling for it for awhile. Today it happened. The Twins called up Mitch Garver to take the spot of Robbie Grossman while he is injured. Garver has done nothing but hit his entire career.

He was a 4-year dominator in college before coming to the pro’s. Since then, he has gradually climbed the Twins Organizational ladder. I wrote more about him, and his past, when I wrote a mock-2019 Starting Lineup for the Twins.

Fleck will remain on your TV screen:

If you haven’t gotten enough of PJ Fleck after his 4-part special with ESPNU then you are in luck. This fall he will start a weekly show on FOX 9 that will air Wednesdays.

If you haven’t watched any of the ESPN Special, I would recommend finding them. They are pretty incredible and Fleck really gives them insights into the way he runs his program and the way he views life. He has been through some really hard times, even losing a child shortly after birth.

Nike makes the Jellyfam shoe without any credit to Jellyfam:

If you haven’t heard of the movement that was started by Gophers incoming Freshman PG, Isaiah Washington then you might be living under a rock. To catch you up, Isaiah Washington and others started, what is now, a major movement. It is called Jellyfam. It is a movement that is described by a finger roll:

Washington will be the next big thing in the Big Ten. Here is a good highlight video:

Vikings late game @ Seattle – Preseason Game 2:

The Vikings lost to the Seahawks late Friday in the 2nd Preseason game. But nobody cares about that. Here is what people do care about:

Blair Walsh is an idiot and proved that to everyone in Minnesota Friday. That Mother-@#%$@#%$%##$% cost us a playoff run. Did he forget that he missed the easiest game-winning field goal of all-time just a couple seasons ago? Did he forget that it was his mental incapacity that caused Vikings’ Fans to cross their fingers and sign the cross every extra-point he kicked? After the Vikings gave him a RAISE?

Apparently not. Blair Walsh has a problem with the Vikings sideline and showed it last night after he made 1/2 field goals last night:

Moving on….. The offense struggled again to move the ball on Seattle’s Defense. However, Dalvin Cook was flashy again:

Cook ended the game with 7 carries for 40 yards (5.7 YPC). Draft him in the first round of your fantasy draft. Trust me.

Bucky Hodges caught Taylor Heinecke’s best pass of the preseason, at the end of the game. The Vikings have been waiting for both those guys to splash a little so that was good to see.

The Vikings will play next on Sunday Night, August 27th at US Bank Stadium.
