The Gopher Men’s Bball Team has a bright future. Tuesday could make it brighter:
It could be another big Tuesday for the Golden Gophers Basketball Team. Last week it was Jarvis Thomas (Orono, MN), this week we hope it is Gabe Kalscheur, a Senior at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis. He announces his college commitment tomorrow at 6:15 PM. The Gophers are the frontrunner (scout.com).
If the Gophers can land him Tuesday, he will add to Pitino’s best class yet. One that already includes (C) Daniel Oturo and (PF) Jarvis Thomas. These guys will add to a team that will include the likes of Jordan Murphy (Senior 2018), Dupree McBrayer (Senior 2018), Eric Curry (Junior 2018), Amir Coffey (Junior 2018), and Isaiah Washington (Sophomore 2018). We all need to keep a serious eye on the Gopher Men’s Basketball Team the next few years. Pitino is building something at the U of M Campus. Here is a really good article from Marcus Fuller on Isaiah Washington who will join the team this season.
There is no reason why the Vikings shouldn’t be good this year:
There has been some negative coverage on the Vikings this year as we are about to enter Training Camp. CBS Sports has them at 8.5 wins. Oddsshark.com has the same: 8.5. ProFootballTalk.com has them finishing 20th overall in the NFL.
I think all of these projections are GARBAGE! This is the same team last year that started 5-0 and, before Teddy’s injury, were Super Bowl favorites for some. Most would say Bradford, after a full offseason with the team, is better than Teddy was before his injury last season. The rest of the team is very much the same. You could argue most positions are better. So what gives? Nothing. BET THE OVER!!! Jim Souhan agrees with me.
Twins lose to Detroit and fall 2.5 games behind Cleveland; 1.5 games behind Kansas City:
It was a disappointing day for the Twins after a big win last night. They fell behind early and were playing catch-up all game, but it was never quite enough. They lose to Detroit 9-6. It was another good day at the plate but the pitching, again, proved to be an achilles heel. Mejia was pulled early, after giving up a double with 1 out in the 4th inning. The Twins would finish the rest of the game using 6 bullpen pitchers and surrendering 16 hits. The defense didn’t help the cause committing 3 errors. It must have been “Throwback to 2016 Night”. Here is the full recap from Twins Daily
It was not the finish to the series the team was looking for. They will now face off against the Dodgers in the city that stole our NBA Team and a name that makes no sense in LA. They will enter the 3-game series 2.5 games behind Cleveland and 1 behind Kansas City. It looks like do-or-die time for our baseball team. F*** LA, the Dodgers, AND their FAKE lakes. It could be now or never, Twins.
