Minnesota Lynx Legends Get Hall of Fame Call

The Minnesota Timberwolves have not had much luck making waves when it comes to significant accomplishments. They have no NBA championships and their only two Hall of Fame players are Kevin Garnett and Chauncey Billups.
The same can’t be said for the Minnesota Lynx. Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen are members of the Basketball Hall of Fame. The organization has four WNBA Championships, and should have had another last season.
They’ll now add another pair of players to the Hall of Fame as well. Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore are both members of the 2025 class.
Maya Moore earns call for Minnesota Lynx
A two-time NCAA Champion with UConn, Maya Moore was the reward for Minnesota in 2011 when she became the first overall pick. Moore hasn’t played with the Lynx since 2018 after pursuing social justice interests, but remains among the best hoopers to ever step on the hardwood. Her place in the sport will forever be celebrated in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Moore entered the league as a 22-year-old in 2011. She immediately made the first of her six all-star appearances, of which she was named the MVP three times. Not surprisingly, Moore won Rookie of the Year honors that season as well.
Three years later she won her first MVP award. Moore was a top-10 MVP candidate in every season of her eight-year career, except for her first, in which she finished 13th. Moore also was a member of all four MN Lynx championship teams. She earned MVP honors for the 2013 title.
Across 271 career games, Moore averaged 18.4 points per game while shooting 45.3% from the field. Her game was something the league had not seen before, and the playmaking ability made her an easy choice to be a brand representative for Jordan Basketball.
She consistently had player exclusive Jordan sneakers and advanced the brand substantially for women’s basketball. Her Jordan XI “Rook to Queen” colorway from 2018 was a celebration of her on-court accomplishments.
MN Lynx Sylvia Fowles joins Moore
It’s not just Moore that is a representative of the Minnesota Lynx in the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class. Fowles was taken as the second overall pick in the 2008 draft by Chicago. Los Angeles legend Candace Parker went ahead of her.
After seven seasons with the Sky, Fowles came to the Lynx. She played the final eight seasons of her 15-year career with Minnesota. Fowles was a member of the last two Minnesota WNBA Championships, and was named the Finals MVP in both of them.
add it to the resume. Syl’s headed to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. 🔥

A tenacious defender, Fowles was named Defensive Player of the Year four separate times. She captured MVP honors in 2017 with Minnesota as well. Fowles played well into her thirties and didn’t retire until after the 2022 season when she was 36 years old.
The center will go down as one of the most imposing figures to ever invade the paint. Fowles was a fan-favorite as well, and averaged 2.4 blocks per game to go along with her 15.7 points. She racked up boards at an incredible place, and her 9.8 rebounds per game nearly had her averaging a double-double.
Minnesota looks for their next star talent during the 2025 WNBA Draft on April 14. The Lynx own the 14th overall pick.
