Last year, Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson, at just 24 years old, was inducted into the Madden 99 Club and rated as the highest wide receiver in the game. This year, however, he and Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill have swapped places, with Hill entering the 99 Club.

Did Justin Jefferson deserve a spot in the Madden 99 Club?

Many Vikings fans think he should be included. However, Jefferson played just 10 games last season due to injury. Tyreek Hill, on the other hand, played all 16 games and nearly reached 1,800 yards. Given these stats, it’s understandable why Madden chose Hill instead.

Despite playing in only 10 games, Jefferson’s 98 rating is impressive. Securing a spot as the second-best receiver and one of the top overall players is a significant achievement.

This could actually serve as extra motivation for Jefferson this season. Believing he’s the best receiver in the NFL, he’ll strive to reclaim the top spot next year, assuming he stays healthy.

A few days before the official revealing, there were rumors circulating that Justin Jefferson might be the cover athlete for Madden 25, but the official announcement revealed that Christian McCaffrey is the chosen star instead.

We don’t yet know how Madden rates other Vikings players because they’ve only released the rankings for receivers so far. Madden will unveil the full ratings as the game’s official launch on August 16th approaches.
