Kirk Cousins Gets Cooler with Every Vikings Win

Kirk Cousins led the Minnesota Vikings to yet another close, comeback victory on Sunday afternoon. This time, it was a 20-17 final back in his old Washington DC stomping grounds. And once again, it wasn’t the cleanest win in franchise history and Cousins’ play was inconsistent for large chunks of the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Clutch Kirk Cousins Strikes Again

But when crunch time hit and the Vikings were down by two scores, Kirk & Co turned it on like they have so many times already this season. Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook all made huge catches on the other end of Cousins’ throws.

And the cooler Kirk Cousins gets under the pressure of an NFL 4th quarter, the cooler he gets after games celebrating with his teammates. But he took Sunday’s celebration to another level, while the Vikings were flying back to Minneapolis on the team plane.

As could be seen on Instagram live streams across the Vikings roster, Kirk Cousins had his chains back on. But this time a shirtless Kirk complemented those chains with bracelets, glasses and HUGE vibes.

Leader Kirk Cousins

The leader and locker room legend that K-Mart Kirk Cousins has become seems nearly impossible when you think back to reporters hounding him over his health choices before the 2021 season. But those days are long forgotten now.

Because Cousins’ transformation goes far beyond having way too much fun on a team plane. Kirk is a completely different human being both on the football field and off.

The same QB once criticized for his inability to perform in crunch time moments is now throwing comeback dimes on an every Sunday basis. Or what about that QB who struggled to rise to the top as a leader in the Vikings locker room? Nope, that issue is dead too.

Because every time Cousins opens his mouth this season, people walk away impressed. He’s open, honest, self-deprecating and loves to shower praise on his teammates. His demeanor is laid back and well put together. Like after the game when he opened his postgame press conference on Sunday talking about Adam Thielen.

Vikings Own the NFC North

The NFL season isn’t even halfway over but the NFC North division race might be. That’s because the (7-1) Minnesota Vikings are the only team with a winning record. The (3-6) Green Bay Packers and (3-6) Chicago Bears both lost again on Sunday, pushing the Vikings’ lead to 4.5 games over both.

But the most difficult challenge of the season may lie ahead next week. That’s when Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and the (6-2) Buffalo Bills will welcome Minnesota to the New York version of a frozen tundra.

Who knows how the contest will play out, but one thing is for sure. I’m not worried about Kirk Cousins or whether his teammates believe in him or not.
